Journal of Human Sexuality:

Objectum sexuals or objectophiles experience a range of emotional, romantic and/or sexual attractions to objects, often forgoing or dispensing with human romantic or sexual intimacy. Thanks to a glut of media coverage but a dearth of intelligent inquiry, objectum sexuality (OS) currently serves as a kind of ready made sexual sideshow, isolated from the big top of mainstream human sexual behavior. The lives of Erika Eiffel, Eija-Ritta Eklof Berliner-Mauer and other objectophiles have been chronicled by journalists who inevitably find themselves torn between straining to understand or simply exploiting the entertainment value of details which the public finds unusual or titillating. It is important to know some history of the objectum sexuality community…

How do I ensure that a good spanking is going to happen? I get this question a lot so I’m going to explain how I do it. I’m not one to leave these things to chance so I have my ways. (Btw, everyone has their own way of going about these things [...]

Avatar FleshlightI saw this morning that the Avatar Fleshlight is here, so far sneaked past any James Cameron-related lawsuits by being a companion to the porn parody This Ain’t Avatar XXX.

Gizmodo: The Avatar Fleshlight Actually Happened

I know: you watched our Fleshlight review and thought hey, that’s great, just maybe not Avatar enough. Like, if only it were blue, and had some crazy texture. Well, creepy person, your wait is over. Meet the Fleshlight Alien. NSFW!

Consider this sexy toy as either a companion product to This Ain’t Avatar XXX—you can buy both as a package deal over at Fleshlight—or as a standalone for some simulated Na’vi nookie.

It has always surprised me how rare it is to find fantasy and science fiction themes in sex-tech products. We all know that fantasy and sci-fi readers are the most sexually creative people of all time. And yet, other than a few love dolls shaped like faerie, the occasional exotic dildo, and erotic slash fiction, there isn’t much out there.

On the other hand, maybe we just spend a lot more time building our worlds in our minds, and connecting through role-playing games and virtual worlds. Any dildo could stand in for any faerie or alien appendage if your mind is fully engaged in cybersex.

But I would still like to see more experimentation in this area. (Hint: I like dragons. A lot.)

She looks to be settled in for a good long hard lap spanking. A lap spanking, for those of you to whom this is a new concept, is like a lap dance only you get to touch. Boy howdy, do you ever get to touch! He should be happy, too — the view is very [...]

Abel writes at The Spanking Writers: A quite wonderful column appeared in the New York Times back in May 1899, headlined: “VIRGINIA PEOPLE SLANDERED. An Imaginary Picture of the Flogging of a Girl Published by a French Journal.” The story reports that a top French paper had published an illustration – sadly not reproduced – [...]

  • The future of sexology comes to San Francisco with the Arse Elektronika conference | io9 – . I love this array of crazy science fiction/science/sex presentations that straddle the line between academic credibility and outright perversion.
  • Dr. Logan Levkoff: Sex Educators Unite to Support University Sex Weeks | Huffington Post – Though Brooks appeared to be concerned for students' and colleges' reputations, she offers no voice for the student organizers of these events or their faculty supporters (and hints at no discussion with them either). In an effort to present their voices, I reached out to sex educators, college student groups, and faculty members from various universities. Every educator and group contacted was frustrated by Brooks' mischaracterization of their events and their work. Many of them were outraged that the individual leading the charge against sex-themed programming was an economics professor with no experience in sexuality education. We decided to respond and together composed a Letter to the Editor of The Chronicle of Higher Education. It was sent it to the editors on September 16th.
  • Assistant attorney general blogs against gay student body president – CNN.com – For nearly six months, Andrew Shirvell, an assistant attorney general for the state of Michigan, has waged an internet campaign against college student Chris Armstrong, the openly gay student assembly president at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
  • Sexy Books: Celebrate your freedom to read during Banned Books Week | Examiner.com
  • Internet Pornographers Now Suing Pirates | Mashable – The producers have targeted users who downloaded titles that prominently feature transsexuals and “barely legal” 18-year old girls. Since the lawsuits are on public record, the defendants’ porn-viewing habits would be exposed.
  • Why Folsom St. Fair is Fun, Sexy and Important | Charlie Glickman – One of the key pieces of sex-positivity can be summed up by the acronym YKINMKBYKIOK, which stands for “Your Kink Is Not My Kink But Your Kink Is OK”. Once you realize that your turn-ons and your squicks come from within you, once you realize that it has less to do with what someone else is doing or saying than you think, you can discover much more sexual freedom within yourself.

A big thank you to Jezebel for point this out to me and for writing about it in such a fantastic way. It’s not at all surprising to me that a high school wouldn’t allow a trans guy to be homecoming king because he was still registered at the school as a girl. Especially since doing so involved negating the votes of the people who had elected him in the first place. Trans people’s voices are often silenced but I think the outrage this time is coming from the fact that many non-trans people’s voices were silenced too. And they’re used to being heard.

Babeland applauds this young person and their classmates for speaking out. To join in, join the Oak Is My King group on Facebook.

The group’s founders go on to urge students to wear “Oak is my King” t-shirts, and to “encourage all to write letters not only to our school paper, but to the chronicle as well.” You can contact the Mona Shores newspaper, The Sailors’ Log, via the “Contact Us” link on its website — contact emails for the editorial staff of the Muskegon Chronicle are listed here.
