Tumblr may not just be for looking at photos of adorable animals or finding nail art inspiration (though in my opinion, those are still two wonderful uses for it). Last month, based on the suggestion of a friend that “someone should start a site where adults share the worst advice they ever got in sex-ed classes as a teen,” one Tumblr user did just that. With that in mind, BadSexEd.tumblr.com was born. The best part? It’s not just a blog where the stories that are sent in are funny (though, hearing that women pee through the clitoris is certainly amusing, albeit a little scary!), but that they serve as a laughter-driven reminders of what not to do as a sex educator. Think of it as a witty form of negative reinforcement.

Ready for some exciting updates?

First of all, I finally kicked off The Beautiful Kind YouTube Channel!

By the way, YouTube yanked a couple of my videos less than 24 hours after they went up, telling me:

So I guess this video was too sexy? I was pretty surprised, given some of the wild stuff I've seen on YouTube, but hell, I'm getting used to being unfairly censored by now. Add YouTube to the list of companies who think I'm too sexy to succeed: PayPal, Girl Scouts, AlertPay, Google Ads, my ex, my job… well, I'm not giving up.

I'll keep my YouTube channel clean, and you can catch my toy reviews over on EdenTube. (The next product I'm reviewing is a sex swing!)

I was interviewed by ideaCity for a conference in June, but I doubt I'll be selected for their Sex segment since I don't have public speaking experience. But they sure liked my ideas!

My consulting site is updated and my Legal Defense Fund is ongoing.

And finally, The Riverfront Times was kind to me once again - TBK received a Web Award for best sex blog. (The other site I co-founded, Sex Positive St. Louis, was also nominated! Thanks for taking pics, David Wraith.)

SPEAKING of SEX+STL, it's really taking off! People keep telling me about the great connections they're making at the various get togethers, so be sure and check the calendar for upcoming events.

We'll be hosting a lot of our events at Shameless Grounds when it opens late Feb. I'll also be setting up shop there - it's a perfect place for me to hold workshops and consultations.

So, yeah, I decided to take bold and shameless up a notch with all the publicity and fundraising. After all, you need three things in order to be successful:

2. Work hard

3. Know the right people.
